I was just thinking yesterday about how many new year thresholds there are this time of year - the winter solstice is such a threshold, the new moon in Capricorn, whenever it arrives, January 1st as the start of the Gregorian calendar year, and then the Chinese new year, which arrives on the 2nd new moon after the winter solstice, this time on January 22. I like to think of it as giving us plenty of time during our wintering to rest and reflect and dream, heal if needed, call in a vision of the next round of unfolding, and then open our hearts fully to it.
