The first days of May mark the celebration of Beltane. Just as Samhain at the start of November marks the halfway point between the fall equinox and the winter solstice and the peak of the dark, Beltane marks that point between the spring equinox and the summer solstice, and the peaking of the light. That’s definitely what time it is—the light is peaking, and for those of us far enough north, we are in full spring, full rebirth and regreening, full blooming. Yesterday Mercury had its mid-retrograde cazimi, so we might have gotten a strong hit of our own inner light or wisdom. But now Pluto has stationed retrograde, and a strong portal to those shadowy, underworld, fall energies is opening up with Friday’s full moon lunar eclipse in Scorpio.
